Club competitions are held on the first Tuesday of the month starting in October and running through April. Three judges judge these competitions. Each member in good standing may submit 3 images in each of the DPI categories: monochrome, color, and fur and feather. Our club will not be entering prints into competition however if an individual would like to have prints submitted to the CACCA competitions they should bring these to our competition nights and your prints will be submitted to CACCA. Winners from our DPI competitions are sent to CACCA for Inter-Club competitions. The CACCA Inter-Club Competitions are held at Northwest Covenant Church, 300 N Elmhurst Ave., Mt. Prospect, IL 60056.
In May, we hold our End of the Year competition. This competition has all members vote for their favorite images from those submitted by club members. These images may have been in previous competitions or just images that the submitting member likes. Votes are tallied at this meeting and awards for image winners are announced at our Summer Picnic. Each member can submit 2 images in three DPI categories: monochrome, color, and fur and feather.
Digital images are often referred to as DPI. DPIs must be submitted by the Sunday before the competition in the proper format. Submissions must follow the specific size and naming requirements. All DPI entries are entered into the Competition Assistant: https://www.411-vision.com/411ClientLogin.html
Print competitions have four categories: small and large monochrome, and small and large color. Please note that there is no special category for "Fur and Feather" images in CACCA. Images of this type will be submitted either in mono or color. Prints submitted in the "Small" categories must be mounted on an 11" x 14" mat board, while all "Large" categories must be mounted on a 16" x 20" mat board. The submission of printed entries should be made at the Club meeting, and all entries must be submitted by 6:40 pm. It is important to note that prints will not be judged at our monthly competitions. Instead, they will be taken down to CACCA for individual assessment.
All images must be eligible to be submitted to CACCA. The sole exception to this rule is when the club asks a member for an image to be submitted to CACCA to fill out our total number of entries before the next club competition. This image may then be submitted to intra-club competition at the next competition.
Same/similar prints, DPI, or slides previously entered in the CACCA Interclub competition on behalf of ANY other affiliated club are ineligible for competition at North Shore in that division.
